Bright Idea

August 21st, 2008

My boyfriend is always talking solar power, but I can’t seem to get my mind around it living in a place (Seattle) where there is basically no sun and a lot of rainy grey days at least 5 months of the year.

However, this is a good compromise of power and style. The Solarjo purse can charge your cell phone for about 2 hours. Thanks to Unplggd for this little gem.

Don’t know why they have a muscle clad man’s arm holding it up, but I’m going to let that one go for today. Enjoy.

Olympic Dreams

August 7th, 2008

I’m crazy about the Olympics and I just got a glimpse of the medals on the Today Show. The venues in Beijing are beautiful and each medal holds Chinese Jade — which symbolizes honor and perfection. I’ve got Olympic Fever!

Three things to love in one post:

First, is Squidoo. Squidoo allows users to build easy “lenses” on anything they are passionate about.  You can create pages on your own work, your favorite food, philosophy or celebrity. A little more info:

A lens is one person’s view on a topic that matters to her. It’s an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, your eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and oh so much more. That way, when someone is looking for recommended information, fast, your lens gets him started and sends him off in the right direction. Hooray for you!

I went to Squidoo this morning after seeing that Chistine Kane’s blog also as a Squidoo page.  I was on her site looking for information on vision boarding — more to come on that later.

Then once I got to Squidoo I stumbled onto my second great find:

A Squidoo page devoted to funky, chic, and cool laptop bags. I never get tired of looking for my next laptop bag. I was thinking of the cute HER bag, but at $270 it is currently out of my price range. Still I can drool over it anyway!

Third, I did this post from inside my FireFox browser using ScribeFire.   It is a great way to link posts from several pages without having to flip back and forth from one tab to another. Special thanks to lapster for suggesting it!

Have a great day!
